Hi I’m Gena, welcome to Symply Nourished! My passion for Healthcare started nearly 15 years ago. During that time I worked as both a Dental Assistant and a short time later as a Dental Hygienist. This blog was born out of the desire to find solutions to common childhood ailments. Ive had my own personal struggles with health, from hormonal imbalances, including adrenal fatigue and low thyroid to food sensitivities.
You never know what curve balls life is going to throw you. After having my son, life changed for us as it naturally does when you have children. When he was 2 months old eczema appeared after his first immunizations and continued to change as months progressed. What started out as a patch of eczema turned our life upside down. Every waking day I would spend researching what could be done to “cure” eczema. It’s the hardest thing to watch your child suffer day in and day out. When your child is not well, you do everything you can to seek out answers, and find solutions. Through this blog and our health journey, I hope you find inspiration and encouragement. It has been said “it takes a village to raise a child”, I believe it is important to seek out those who can help you achieve overall health and wellness. If you’ve been searching for practical and natural ways to deal with children’s health issues – nourishing “real” food nutrition – ways to decrease toxins in you or your kids lives – natural oral hygiene tips and tricks – you’ve found the place!
I will be sharing many recipes that have helped us heal and allow us to work around our restrictions. You will also find product and resource favourites. Lord knows I research, research, research. In fact part of my vision for this blog is to share all I have learned and continue to learn along the road towards optimal health. In fact – this journey has inspired me to dive deeper into the core of nutrition – I’m currently doing a dual certification in Integrative and Holistic Nutrition. I just started my studies at Kresser Institute, so you can follow me along, as I will be posting the lastest and greatest in Evolutionary Medicine.
At Symply Nourished you will find weekly or twice weekly posts on all things Nourishing. It is my hope that you can take some of the knowledge I’ve gained along way and apply it to your own life circumstance. It hasn’t been an easy road, thats life, learn from your hardships and find the silver lining. I hope you find inspiration to leave you empowered in your own health journey. May you be “Symply Nourished”.
Wishing You Health & Wellness – Gena
